Regarding the unreality of evil, I quote from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

World-Telegram

Regarding the unreality of evil, I quote from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science: "Expose and denounce the claims of evil and disease in all their forms, but realize no reality in them" (p. 447); "If evil is as real as good, evil is also as immortal" (p. 186).

The First Commandment of the Hebrew Decalogue declares, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." This "me" is God. If we give to evil the same value and power that we give to God, the eternal good, we lose that encouraging gleam of absolute, supreme good which shines through the First Commandment.

Inasmuch as the rabbi has stated so definitely that Christian Scientists maintain a passive attitude of inaction in the presence of human distress, it may not be looked upon as an infraction of good taste to say that Christian Scientists have in recent years contributed a substantial sum to world-wide relief. By far the greater part of this sum was distributed to persons who are not of the Christian Science faith.
