Among the Churches

NEEDLES, CALIFORNIA (Society).—The edifice of Christian Science Society of Needles was dedicated on Sunday, April 21.

Christian Science services were first held in Needles in the fall of 1914 by two residents of the city who had become interested in this religion as a result of its healing work. The attendance increased, and a Christian Science Society was organized. In November, 1929, this society was reorganized as a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. The continued progress of the society is evidenced by the purchase, about a year ago, of the building that it now occupies.

In the Christian Science denomination church buildings are not dedicated until they are completely free from debt. Since all the indebtedness against the edifice of Christian Science Society of Needles was completely paid, the building was dedicated at the services Easter Sunday.—Needles Nugget.
