Newcastle Advertiser and Northern Post

It is evident from the subsequent letters appearing in your newspaper that "Seeker after Truth" and "Veritas" are making use of your columns only to show their disappoval of Christian Science.

My letters, which you had the kindness to publish, have dealt with the misunderstandings and the misrepresentations of the teachings of Christian Science, but it is not their purpose to debate the differences that exist between Chrstian Science and the creeds and doctrines to which other religions are committed. If your anonymous critics care to disclose their identity I feel sure that Christian Scientists in your community will be very glad to lend them copies of the Christian Science textbook and Mrs. Eddy's other writings, which will enlighten them.

Christian Science has no quarrel with the churches. The ranks of Christian Scientists are made up of hundreds of persons of different creeds who were healed in Christian Science of sin and sickness after other doctrinal beliefs and material methods had failed them.

Christian Scientists do not criticize other denominations. They have learned the value of the words, "to judge righteous judgment," and, with Paul, would humbly say, "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life."
