Love Alone Solves All Human Problems

From the beginning of human history, divine Love has revealed itself to the spiritually-minded, and through their purified thought has met the human need. Before the coming of Jesus the revelations to spiritual thinkers, such as Abraham, Jacob, Moses, and the prophets, while glorious, were in anticipation of the coming of one who should show forth, in all its beauty and perfection, the spiritual idea of divine Love. Christ Jesus came. His revelation fulfilled prophecy. He demonstrated the true idea of God and man and carried his demonstration to completion. He taught his disciples, as far as they were able to understand it, the divine Principle, Love, that solves all human problems. Their understanding did much to establish the recognition of spiritual law in human thought, but Jesus himself said that the complete explanation of this law should come through the Comforter or Holy Spirit. His words, according to St. Joh, were, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

In this age Christian Science, discovered by Mary Baker Eddy, is the complete revelation of divine Truth which fully explains the words and works of Christ Jesus. With the coming of this revelation, which includes the rule whereby each one may prove the power of divine Love to solve all his problems, a new era has opened for the world, the era of spiritual demonstration. The new era appears first in the consciousness of the spiritual thinkers of the age, but the unfolding power of Love is touching and transforming every phase of human life.

In order that the spiritual law of Love may be used to solve all social, economic, and political problems, certain fundamental ideas must first be discerned and then demonstrated. Divine Love, Spirit, not matter, must be seen as the Principle of real production, distribution, relationships, employment. These ideas, spiritually discerned and demonstrated, first in individual consciousness, will ultimately transform human society. Rightly utilized, they will solve every political and social problem, establish social justice, and disclose the best methods for promoting human welfare.. There is no problem, however intricate, that divine Love, understood and demonstrated, cannot solve.
