We read in the Bible, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Our Leader says on page 183 of Science and Health, "Obedience to Truth gives man power and strength." I wish to express my deepest and most loving gratitude for this truth that makes us free from all kinds of sin and sickness, and is also a wonderful protection.

Christian Science has healed me of influenza, constipation, severe headaches, and rheumatism in one of my hands. The latter was very swollen, and the fingers were stiff and most painful. This was the result of resentment. We are taught in Christian Science to love one another, but I could not see how I could love someone who, I thought, had injured me. While a practitioner was helping me, I turned to the Bible and read I Corinthians 13:1–5. In the fifth verse it states of "charity" that it "doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil." I saw that when one is reflecting love he is thinking no evil. I was most grateful for this, for I knew I was healed, and although the swelling did not go down for some time, the pain left.

My husband has been healed of stomach trouble, which he had had for years. All these healings are wonderful, but the greatest blessing is to have learned how to read the Bible with some understanding.
