Christ Jesus proclaimed, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." This proclamation, issued during the early Christian period, came from him who "taught them as one having authority."

What is the life which the Master came to present more abundantly to humanity? Surely it is not an existence filled with sickness, selfishness, and sorrow. Is it not that state of living which is resplendent with health, joy, compassion, affection, and honesty? Christ Jesus' message to John the Baptist indicates that such is the case: "Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached."

What was the power which enabled Jesus to bring this healing to humanity? He gives the answer in his declaration that God "doeth the works." The Master had one God, who is Spirit, and he understood fully the nature, operation, and power of God's spiritual law. This understanding enabled Jesus to correct all types of evil and thereby bring abundant life to the burdened.
