To express my gratitude for the many blessings received through Christian Science I am writing this testimony.

When I had been studying Christian Science for about a year I was attacked with gallstones. I wanted to give this Science a fair trial before I turned to anything else, and my husband said that I could have any kind of treatment I wished, but not to put it off; so I wrote to a Christian Science practitioner for help and asked her what I could do to assist her. She told me to read Science and Health every day, and that all bitterness and hate must turn to love and all sorrow must turn to joy. I thought it was too hard to be joyful when a dear sister and mother had just passed on, and I felt justified in hating certain people; but I loved to read Science and Health, and as I read I learned that joy is the master of sorrow and love overcomes hate. The periods of suffering grew farther apart and of less violence and shorter duration, and in three months my healing was complete.

Another healing was that of tonsillitis, which had lasted for three days. I asked a practitioner for help, and on the third night these words came into my consciousness as plainly as if someone had spoken them: "You have no sore throat." That was the last I remembered until the next morning, when I awoke healed. Our little girl was healed of kidney trouble in one night. She did not miss a day of school and was never troubled again with this condition.
