[Original testimony in German]

With great joy and gratitude to God and Christian Science...

With great joy and gratitude to God and Christian Science I should like to give this testimony regarding the blessings and healings that have come to my family and me.

I have been acquainted with Christian Science for some years, and my wife, our children, and I have had the privilege of experiencing several healings. In the summer of 1932 unemployment prevailed, and this state of affairs drove me almost to despair. I went to a Christian Science practitioner, who explained to me that divine Mind is the source of unlimited supply, and that our every need is met. The practitioner worked along this line; and two days later customers appeared, so that I was blessed with work exceeding my expectation and could discharge my obligations. During the winter, too, I had very satisfactory work for some time.

At the end of January I was taken with a severe attack of grippe, so I telephoned to the practitioner and asked for help. I continued my work but apparently was unable to clear my thinking, for at the end of a week I had to go home because inflammation of the joints had set in. Since I contribute to a fund for illness relief, I had the physician called. He diagnosed great weakness of the heart and urgently recommended medicine. After three weeks and a half, inflammation of the lungs also appeared. Two remedies applied by the physician to relieve the inflammation of the lungs had just the opposite effect; and this clearly proved to us that one cannot serve two masters. The physician told my wife that ninety-five out of a hundred persons do not survive conditions such as mine, which meant that he no longer had much hope.
