I wish to express my deep gratitude for the privilege of having Christian Science brought to me, and for the many benefits I have received from its teachings.

The first healing in our home took place over sixteen years ago and gave me positive proof of the healing power of this Science. Since birth, my eldest son, then a child of three, had suffered greatly with stomach trouble, which caused constant vomiting, and he was always on a diet. Though he had much help from a doctor, attacks were still periodic. After I had attended one Sunday service and two Wednesday testimony meetings, I asked a student of Christian Science if anything could be done for my child, and he replied in the affirmative. Two days later the child developed one of his bad attacks, and in desperation I turned to the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The book opened to the beginning of the chapter on Prayer. I read aloud, and when I came to the words, "God is Love" (p. 2), I felt doubtful, as I had believed that God sent sickness. However, I continued to read and came to the same words again. This time I tried to realize the truth of the statement. After finishing the chapter, I returned to the child, repeating the words, "God is Love," and to my astonishment he was sleeping peacefully. I did not know then that he was healed, but he has never since had a return of that trouble and is now a strong and healthy young man.

Many other illnesses in my home, such as mumps, measles, chicken pox, and fever, have been overcome by Christian Science treatment from practitioners.
