I first caught a glimpse of the truth of Christian Science through the healing of a goiter. For two years I had been under medical treatment for this goiter. I could see it getting larger and larger every time I looked at it. The thought expressed by the doctor was that I should pass on suddenly or become insane. I had to rest two or three hours every day, retire at nine o'clock every night, and avoid all forms of excitement. I lived under this so-called law for two years, until one day my husband suggested to me that I take up Christian Science. I visited a practitioner, who directed my thought to this Bible verse: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" In two months I was completely healed. That was twenty years ago. This healing proved to me that "Mind, supreme over all its formations and governing them all, is the central sun of its own systems of ideas, the life and light of all its own vast creation; and man is tributary to divine Mind" (Science and Health, p. 209).

I am a member of The Mother Church and a branch church and have three children in the Sunday school.
