With a deep sense of gratitude I desire to testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. When four years of age, my daughter injured her eye; the least bit of light caused her deep pain. The doctor said that she must have punctured the eye with a sharp instrument; and he very lovingly tried for six months to effect a cure, but after that time the eye was worse rather than better. Then a relative asked why we did not try Christian Science. We knew little of this religion, only that a relative in England was studying it; so we wrote to her, and to our joy and amazement on the very evening she must have received the letter the child looked straight up for the first time in six months, and the mark on the eye had disappeared completely. It was a permanent healing. This caused me to begin studying this religion when a copy of Science and Health was lovingly given to me. It proved to be the "pearl of great price;" and though the way has been difficult, it is with great thanksgiving that I look back and see how many wrong desires and traits have been discarded.
We have witnessed many healings. Before coming into Science I had a major operation. The surgeon on the case said that not one organ was in its right position, and this caused trouble with the eyes too. About four years ago the same symptoms appeared, but with the aid of a practitioner they were overcome in a short time. Whooping cough, quinsy, psoriasis, and a so-called incurable disease have all been overcome.
I am very grateful to our dear Leader, who discovered this truth and was strong enough to give it to the world; to the loving practitioner and friends who have helped us to prove these truths; for the periodicals, and all those who aid in sending out to the world these proofs of God's care and love, and also for the Hymnal; many discordant conditions have disappeared after I have sung a few hymns. My desire is to know more of this wonderful truth, and to be able to serve better in this great movement.—(Mrs.) Florence May Noble, Tracy, New Brunswick, Canada.
