Grace

Not for mere time that speeds from sun to sun,
We ask for grace;
But that each moment's task be so begun
That Love's bright face
With radiant blessing on our way may shine,
And so our lives reflect the Life divine.

Not for the limning of some self-born dream,
We seek the way;
But that each step with Love's pure light may gleam,
Nor move astray.
So we shall mount and reach the gloried height
Where grace divine rules all, and faith is sight.
