[Original testimony in German]

For many years when winter came, and it was rainy...

For many years when winter came, and it was rainy and damp, I suffered from rheumatic pains, particularly in my arms. The coming of the cold season in 1931 caused me apprehension, as we had decided to get along without servants, and it could therefore not be avoided that my hands be continually in either cold or warm water. Thus when winter came the pain appeared. The thumb of the left hand came to have a very painful boil; the bones of the joint seemed double in size.

I therefore turned to a Christian Science practitioner for help, which was readily and lovingly given. At once the pain became less, and within one month, to the great surprise of the family, the swelling on the finger joint had entirely and painlessly disappeared. All through the winter with courage I was able to help in our establishment without experiencing difficulty or fatigue; and when my daughter burned her hands and had to be careful of herself, I was able to rise early during a period of three weeks in the most severe winter weather for the purpose of attending to early duties, and that without experiencing any disadvantage to my health.

It is with joy that I give this testimony, and with gratitude to God, who gave me strength and health; with thanks also to our noble, humanitarian Leader, who pointed out to us the right way to God, Truth; and with thanks also to the patient practitioner whom I have been privileged to ask for help so often, and never in vain.—(Mrs.) Gertrud von Hünefeld, Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America.
