Four generations of our family have had the benefits of Christian Science. My maternal grandfather, at the age of seventy-four, was healed of intestinal trouble of many years' standing, and with it disappeared an inveterate smoking habit of over sixty years' duration. Also, it had been his custom for many years to have a hot toddy before retiring, and this desire left him at the same time. He lived to the age of nearly ninety, enjoying good health and retaining all of his faculties, including keen sight and hearing. My paternal grandmother, when advanced in years, was healed of Bright's disease and complications.

When I was a child, my mother was healed of valvular heart disease, dropsy, and kidney trouble, and has enjoyed good health and been active in the Field for thirty-five years. My father, who had experienced healings of rupture, ptomaine poisoning, and chronic sick headaches, also took up the earnest study of Christian Science. And I had two instantaneous healings, of loss of voice and a fracture of the ligaments of the back from a fall in the gymnasium at school.

Thirty years ago, mother, father, and I had the great blessing of class instruction from an early student of Mrs. Eddy's. This laid the foundation for my whole life, and I can never express in words my gratitude for this wonderful experience.
