When Christian Science was presented to me seventeen years ago I was a medical nurse. Aside from the fact that I was generally complaining of some physical distress, I was dreadfully unhappy because I witnessed so much suffering in my line of work. It was more than I could bear, as I was very sympathetic. One day I went in despair to my sister. She had but recently experienced her first healing in Christian Science, and when I had poured out my unhappy story, she lovingly encouraged me, and handing me a Christian Science pamphlet advised me to read it. The pamphlet was entitled "Birthright and Dominion." I was so hungry and thirsty for the truth that I devoured every word of it.

At this point I took up the study of Christian Science in earnest and, needless to say, my whole outlook on life was changed. My thought was so transformed that I accepted the teaching without mental reservation or argument. A year later I took my stand and decided I would not continue nursing. Almost immediately other work was obtained that was entirely in harmony with Christian Science. I became very happy and naturally most grateful.

I have been healed of many physical diseases: inflammatory rheumatism, influenza, chronic constipation, nervous prostration, and many minor ailments. I feel grateful that I have made some progress in being less willful and selfish, and can truthfully say that the study of Christian Science has done all of this and much more. Also for numerous healings of other members of my family, I am grateful.
