Some eleven years ago I experienced a healing through Christian Science for which I have been deeply grateful. While I was in school one spring my mother became very ill with an infectious disease, which confined her to her bed. A few months later it became necessary for me to withdraw from school, with a pronounced case of insomnia and nervous breakdown. My mother and I relied solely upon Christian Science treatment. Members of our family thought the healing slow, and friends who were not students of Christian Science begged me to forsake it, assuring me that if I did not, neither mother nor I could be healed; but through the earnest and consecrated work of a practitioner we were both entirely healed.

My healing came after the right concept of rest was gained. A teaching position in a rural school district was accepted before I was able to sleep more than one or two hours at night. This desire to express right activity brought about a realization of freedom for me. In the light of experiences of past years I realize that the healing had occurred before I was conscious of it. During the teaching period I was sustained under physical hardships which had hitherto been unknown to me.

I am deeply grateful to those friends and relatives, students of Christian Science, who helped us through this testing time; and also to our Leader for this truth which she has revealed, and made available to all who seek it.
