For what Christian Science has done for me I wish to express my sincere gratitude. Before I began to study it I was not able to do my own housework, and could not walk down town. Although I had been under the care of a medical doctor for over ten years, with tuberculosis and serious kidney trouble, I grew worse. I had a terrible pain in may side, and the only thing the doctor could do to relieve me was to give me a hypodermic injection. I also had sick headaches, and wore rubber stockings for varicose veins. But thanks to God, the Giver of all good, I now enjoy normal health.
I was left with eight children and with no home or means of support. My baby boy, then four years old, was in a plaster of Paris cast. His trouble had been pronounced tuberculosis of the bone. When I began the study of Christian Science he was out of the cast but could scarcely walk; now he is in perfect health and goes to school every day.
All my healings have come through reading the Bible, together with Science and Health and other Christian Science literature. They are my daily guides. It is wonderful to know that God is our Father-Mother, from whom we can never for a moment be separated. These lines from Science and Health (p. 495) have been a great help to me: "When the illusion of sickness or sin tempts you, cling steadfastly to God and His idea."
