Christian Science was presented to me in 1905 by a dear friend who afterward became my husband. A prominent business man had lent him a copy of the Christian Science textbook by Mary Baker Eddy, and the fact that a man of his intelligence was interested in this religion had great weight with us. We read the book and attended the Wednesday and Sunday services quite regularly for a while, with the hope that I could be healed of gallstones, although physicians had told me that an operation was necessary.

We did not, however, take up the study of Christian Science as earnestly as we should have done until three years after our marriage. My husband was sent to a city in another state, and upon our arrival there we found a room in the home of two sisters who were practitioners. After witnessing some of the marvelous results of their work for others, I asked for treatment and was healed; and I can never thank those dear practitioners enough for their loving patience in their explanations and faithful work with me. I was also healed of constipation, hemorrhoids, and fistulas, not even knowing when the last two troubles disappeared.

My heart overflows with gratitude to the inspired contributors of the wonderfully helpful articles in the periodicals. Christian Science has brought out so clearly to me the omnipotence and omnipresence of God, and how tenderly He cares for His children when we turn whole-heartedly to and rely absolutely upon Him. My greatest desire is that I may be worthy of the name "Christian Scientist."
