The Lectures
Introductions to Lectures
Lecturer: Dr. Hendrik Jan de Lange; introduced by Charles Wallace Jackson, who said:—
On page 548 of the Christian Science textbook Mrs. Eddy says: "In this Science, we discover man in the image and likeness of God. We see that man has never lost his spiritual estate and his eternal harmony;" and on page 505, "This understanding is not intellectual, is not the result of scholarly attainments; it is the reality of all things brought to light." It is of this understanding of the unity of God and man, and of God as the ever present and inexhaustible source of life, health, and happiness, that the lecturers tell us.
It has been my blessing to know the comfort of Christian Science since a small child. Through its help all my troubles, from childhood diseases to scholastic problems, have been met. On one occasion, after an explosion had burned practically all the clothes from my body, the healing was so complete that no trace of scars remained. Even in business affairs in the last few years, when unpleasant situations have arisen, Christian Science has been an unfailing source of support.
