My sister was often ill from early childhood
My sister was often ill from early childhood. About twenty-one years ago she became afflicted with ulcers of the stomach which became chronic. She had to undergo a difficult operation—performed by a renowned specialist—in which part of her stomach was removed. After this she was bound to a strict diet and could eat very little. During subsequent years she had to undergo two other operations, and gradually became very weak. As she again complained of severe pain in her stomach, we sent her to the hospital. After several weeks the chief physician informed my mother that there was no longer any help for my sister, and that we should take her home again.
At that moment of extremity Christian Science was brought to us. My sister consented to have a practitioner treat her, and each day an improvement was manifested, until she was entirely restored. She can now eat anything. No one can tell that she ever passed through such a severe experience. For this wonderful healing, which took place eleven years ago, we are very grateful, as well as for all other blessings which we have been privileged to receive.
After several treatments in Christian Science, I was freed from severe manifestations of cold, nausea, and a sprained foot. I am particularly grateful to God for the healing of diabetes. I did not use any material remedies, nor did I resort to medical help, but trusted in God alone. Today I am entirely free. With hearts filled with gratitude we are mindful of our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who gave us the glorious textbook which truly has become a "key" to the Scriptures for us.
