Consecration

From Truth's compelling path shrink not,
Nor, having entered, swerve;
With every selfish aim forgot
Advance, and nobly serve.

Pursuing straight the upward way,
Our Saviour's footsteps trace;
They lead thee into cloudless day,
Reveal God face to face.

When pressing toward the heights divine,
Seem Christ's demands too great?
Rejoice to know true rest is thine,
Thy life to consecrate.
