Paying Debts
Those who are struggling under a burden of debt will find comfort and practical relief in the teachings of Christian Science, through which they learn how to exercise their God-given dominion in meeting this and every adverse situation.
The first verse of the twenty-fourth Psalm states, "The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." God, the only creator, made and governs all. The first chapter of Genesis states that man was made in the image and likeness of God and was given dominion over the earth. Man, then, made in the image of the affluent Father of all, is heir to the nature and abundance of God.
A false material sense which expresses itself in sinning, suffering, and limited beliefs may testify to burdensome debt. This negative or depressed state of thought lacks confidence in God and love for man, and expresses itself in outward conditions called limitation, depression, debt, want, and woe. With confidence and love restored to his consciousness through the application of Christian Science, an individual is enabled to fulfill his obligations to God and his fellow men, and experiences improved human conditions and liquidation of debt.
