On page 179 of the Christian Science textbook Mrs. Eddy says, "Science can heal the sick, who are absent from their healers, as well as those present, since space is no obstacle to Mind." I wish to testify to a healing I was privileged to witness that took place through the application of Christian Science.
Some time ago an infant was attacked by a severe intestinal disturbance, the type so common during the hot summer weather in some parts of this country. The physician on the case did everything he could, but without avail. The day finally came when he made a grave prognosis and told the mother that another day would bring the end. In her extremity the mother suggested that a Christian Science practitioner be called, to which the doctor readily consented. The practitioner, forty miles away, was called over longdistance telephone. In a very short while, a matter of minutes, the infant showed signs of improvement, and in a few hours was completely healed. To us the marvelous part of this experience was the proof that "space is no obstacle to Mind."
I wish to add that I can vouch for the authenticity of this healing, since the child is in our home, and I was the physician on the case. Now, however, I am grateful to be an active member of a branch church, as well as to have membership in The Mother Church.
