About twenty years ago I became rather impatient with a slow healing, because previously I had been healed quickly of extremely trying conditions. At this time I became very ill, and the condition seemed unyielding although a practitioner was constantly at work and I had had years of study of Christian Science with results following. Often I would think: I know that "with God all things are possible," but this trouble seems to be so deeply rooted that perhaps I have not enough understanding now to enable me to rise out of such a serious condition. It proved to be a case in which gradual growth out of the falsely educated belief of disease into greater spiritual understanding, with a new sense of health and happiness, was necessary.

The belief of heredity had to be broken, as in preceding generations the same disease had supposedly caused two members of my family to pass on. Two leading physicians of this city have told me in recent years that they watched me rise up out of a very problematical physical condition into health, and the doctor who examined me informed me that there had been a tumor, but that an operation would have been fatal. My father had not got away from the thought of going to a doctor to find out what the trouble was; so in the early stages we had an examination. There was never a moment, however, when we digressed from Christian Science for the healing.

With experience backing my statement, I can now say, "Nothing is impossible with God." I want to give this testimony for the purpose of encouraging others to keep on, when healing does not come immediately, because, even though deeply engulfed, healing is certainly for all as it was for me. My gratitude for the understanding of the nothingness of matter and the allness of Spirit is beyond words.
