I wish to express my sincere gratitude for all the good...
I wish to express my sincere gratitude for all the good that has come to my family and to me through the study and application of Christian Science. I was taken very ill in April, 1924. A friend who was a Christian Scientist asked permission to call a practitioner for me. I consented, and although I had been suffering so intensely that I could not move, I was able to get up almost immediately; and with a few more absent treatments was completely healed. At that time I knew very little of Christian Science and had never seen a practitioner. Soon afterward my husband and I both began the study of Christian Science, and since that time it has been our only physician, always meeting our need. Our three children have never known material remedies. I had Christian Science treatment when the third child was born, and experienced practically painless childbirth, everything being most harmonious afterwards as well.
The children have been healed of cuts, burns, sprains, insect stings, colds, and whooping cough. Our entire family was healed of smallpox. My healing came very quickly. I spent one half day in bed and had a few absent treatments from the practitioner. My husband was completely healed in a week. The healing of the children took longer, but they were beautifully protected and suffered very little. They experienced so-called after effects, which were destroyed by the practitioner's work. The youngest had double mastoiditis and two abscesses on the brain. These all opened and drained with no other than the operation of Truth. This healing was somewhat slow, but the child experienced very little discomfort and went about his play free and happy. The children attend a Christian Science Sunday School and are able to do some of their own mental work.
About two years ago my husband was healed of acute appendicitis. He was very ill and there were indications that the appendix had burst; but he was able to be up in five days and returned to his work in less than two weeks. I am very grateful for the work done by the practitioners. I am also grateful for our Leader's writings and the periodicals, and for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.—(Mrs.) Claudine McCoy, Midlothian, Illinois.
