Daily Record,
In the Daily Record of January 13, a professor is credited with the statement that "Couéism, Christian Science, newthought, osteopathy, artificial sunlight, and electric treatment are not far separated from primitive beliefs."
Will you kindly give me space to explain the difference between Christian Science and the other systems mentioned?
Even in the most primitive beliefs there are signs of two divergent lines of thought, one reaching past the visible and looking up to God as omnipotent Spirit, the other accepting the evidence of the material senses and looking to matter for power.
There is not, and never has been, any agreement between these lines of reasoning. Christian Science is the logical outcome of the first line of thought, while suggestion, manipulation, sun power, electricity, and so on, are the natural fruits of the second.
