I am ever more desirous of expressing my gratitude to God for all His goodness and for the privilege of knowing the truth as taught in Christian Science.

At one time I had severe pains in my legs, being threatened with what is called phlebitis. I realized at once that God does not send sickness, and that He is always ready to meet every human need and has already given man everything, including health. I understood that I had to cast out this false sense of suffering, for it was unreal.

Fear took hold of me, however, because the thought of possibly having to stay in bed a long time distressed me, there being so much work to be done in the house. I asked a Christian Science practitioner to help me, and she lovingly did so. She made it clear to me that divine Mind is the only healer of sickness and sin; that as the understanding of this fact grows stronger it makes our lives better, casts out error, and makes room for harmony; and that by turning away from the false belief of sensation in matter and looking to God, the source of all good, who is ever present Love, I should be quickly healed. At once I felt a great sense of relief. How happy I was to be better, to feel the presence of God, infinite good, and to know that He was freeing me of error! I am very grateful for the wonderful definition of God given by Mrs. Eddy. The study of the Heralds helped me to progress and to understand that it is not what we physically feel which counts, but what we think. I now understand that man is governed by Soul, Mind, God.
