Importance of Little Things
WHEN we think a kindly thought or do a loving deed, no matter how simple the thought or small the deed, it at least hints the truth about man, God's reflection. As we desire spiritual riches and enlarge our spiritual understanding, we readily reflect good, bring it into our experience, and bless those about us. By freeing our thought of negative qualities, such as fear, discouragement, unkindness, envy, hatred, malice, and thinking from a spiritual instead of a material standpoint, we open the way for Truth to reach our consciousness freely. There is no lack, no limitation in the realm of Mind. Jesus instructed his disciples, "Freely ye have received, freely give." Do we give freely, not of the letter only, but of the spirit? Are we always kind and loving? In reflecting God, good, we benefit not only those to whom we give, but ourselves as well. The joy of giving freely, gladly, fully, is uplifting and healing, and aids in bringing to our understanding that all-important change of base, the change from material to spiritual thinking.
The realization of the spiritual truth we declare heals—demonstrates divine power. By not only saying but knowing that all right activity proceeds from divine Mind, and that there is no other real source of activity, we can prove that man, as the expression of God, is freely, spiritually, active in all ways and at all times.
By rising above small-mindedness, unkind feelings, and petty disturbances through knowing their unreality, we destroy them. This fidelity to divine Principle opens the way for the solution of seemingly difficult problems which appear to come between us and enlarged spiritual understanding. We have to take a conscientious stand for good, so as to realize harmony, which is man's native state.
