Before I commenced to study Christian Science my baby daughter was healed in one treatment by a Christian Science practitioner of severe bowel trouble after five weeks of medical treatment had failed to give relief. The child had steadily lost weight from birth, but during the week of the treatment she gained six ounces.

When, some months later, I began to study Christian Science in earnest, "a new heaven and a new earth" were unfolded to me. Prior to this I often doubted the existence of a loving God, as the world's burdens seemed so unequal and below even the standard of human intelligence.

Weakness and nervous debility of many years' standing are giving place to health and usefulness, as I realize that life is spiritual, not material. My healing has been slow, because until lately I have been trying to heal matter instead of destroying material beliefs. The errors to be overcome were legion; but they are now rapidly giving way before the steady progress in spiritual understanding.
