Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Six times during the year the important metropolitan newspaper, the Los Angeles Sunday Times, printed full press reports of Christian Science lectures. These lecture reports were published without charge and without requiring the churches to buy copies of issues containing the lectures. Various other daily, semiweekly, and weekly newspapers, and other periodicals also printed full lecture reports.

Through the understanding gained by reading a partial report of a lecture from the Los Angeles Evening Herald and Express, a husband and wife who are Christian Scientists were wonderfully protected from injury while they were on a railroad train near Tehachapi during a cloudburst. A woman who was not previously a student of Christian Science was healed of cancer through receptively reading a full report of a lecture in the Pasadena Star-News.

The same improvement in attitude toward our religion that is taking place in the press has been noted also in other directions. For instance, a Christian Science practitioner, by invitation and with the consent of The Christian Science Board of Directors, addressed a gathering of Chiropractors in Whittier; and the Committee on Publication for Southern California, by invitation from the University of Washington, delivered the baccalaureate address during the graduation exercises of the university at Seattle
