As I review what Christian Science has done for me, it seems as if I have not words strong enough to express my gratitude. God has poured innumerable blessings on me and I should like to state a few of them.
The first test of my faith came when a severe bilious headache manifested itself, for which I had taken a drug for several years. I had to choose between turning to God's almighty power and using the drug, and when the battle was over I threw the drug away and have never used it since. That was over eighteen years ago. The next test was the passing on of a dear one whilst I was abroad. The metaphysical work for that experience was done so thoroughly that when I returned home to England a few months later, I felt no sense of loss. That was to me a very beautiful demonstration.
I have had many wonderful proofs of our Father's protecting care in having our needs met and lost articles returned. Influenza and ptomaine poisoning have been destroyed in less than two days. Warts finally had to yield to the power of Truth as taught in Christian Science. My earnest desire is to know more of God, to recognize His ideas as perfect, and to love them as He loves them. Who can doubt the love and sincerity of Mary Baker Eddy toward all mankind? I pray that I may show more humility and think less of self.
