ALTHOUGH
earnest Christian Scientists realize that they need to gain familiarity with the letter of Christian Science, they are concerned to an even greater extent with imbibing the healing spirit of Christian Science.
A LINE
from a familiar hymn loved by Christians reads, "Watchman, tell us of the night.
HOW
vital and necessary to everyone is happiness! It is a goal toward which all mankind is struggling.
DURING
times of financial stress there seems to be a tendency on the part of mankind to cling to material possessions, to hoard money, and to hesitate to buy even needful things or to share with those in need.
IN
those countries where the English language is not the native tongue surprise is sometimes expressed because Christian Science services are held in the English language in addition to those held in the language of the country.
In your issue of December 1 there appeared an article entitled, "What are we to think of Christian Science?
In the Vanguard of November 5 there is an article which gives so erroneous an account of Christian Science that I feel I must put the facts before you, and I would submit that these facts are deserving of as much publicity as the wrong statements made in the article.
An article, entitled "Ways of Healing," made reference to Christian Science in a way which calls for correction.
In a review of a book which appeared in the News, it was said that the book gives a history of fads in healing in this country, in which category Christian Science is included.
Your correspondent, "A Believer," writing in your last issue, asks, "Do Christian Scientists believe in the whole word of God?
FORGIVENESS
is usually thought of as bestowed by one person on another.
WHEN
Christ Jesus was assured that his disciples had received sufficient spiritual instruction and inspiration to warrant it, he sent them forth to spread the gospel of present salvation.

On the evening of May 25 members of The Christian Science Monitor staff and others watched interestedly as the first press that was removed to the new Publishing House ran off the first papers printed there.

With a thankful heart I should like to testify to the great blessings which have been given me through Christian Science.
My first healing in Christian Science, which occurred in July, 1903, account of which was published in the Sentinel of January 13, 1917, has been permanent.
For about fifteen years I had been troubled with an enlargement of the spleen.
My heart is overflowing with gratitude for the glorious healing power of Christian Science.
I am very grateful for the realization and joy of ever being in God's presence, and for the many blessings I am witnessing daily and hourly.
Gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me, for the many blessings received and the peace and comfort it has brought into my life, prompts me to give this testimony to the healing power of Christian Science.
Over fifteen years ago Christian Science was introduced to me, and I attended a service the following Sunday.
