At a time when the city of Honolulu (Fair Haven) was in the throes of a mental turmoil and anguish never before known in its history, the morning paper printed, without solicitation from this office, a metaphysical article from the Monitor entitled "Let us Rise Up and Build;" and the evening paper, an editorial from the Monitor called "Hawaii and Headline Hysteria."

Another proof of the esteen in which the Monitor is held by the newspapers in this Territory is the fact that during the year among five of our papers one hundred and sixteen articles from the Monitor were printed, with due credit given.
