There can be no "combination of the Christian Science and Coue methods," as stated in the article mentioned, since Coueism is autosuggestion or the action of the carnal mind; while Christian Science is the utilization of the power of God, divine Mind, in overcoming sin, disease, and death. St. Paul made this distinction when he wrote, "To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."

The Scriptures record proof of the protection from extreme heat to those who trusted God, as in the case of the three Hebrews in the "burning fiery furnace."

On this subject Mrs. Eddy writes (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, pp. 384, 385): "Let us reassure ourselves with the law of Love. God never punishes man for doing right, for honest labor, or for deeds of kindness, though they expose him to fatigue, cold, heat, contagion. . . . Constant toil, deprivations, exposures, and all untoward conditions, if without sin, can be experienced without suffering."
