I should like to tell of my son's healing in Christian Science, trusting that may may be helpful to someone else who may be passing through a similar experience.

In February, 1922, my son, then fourteen years old, became ill with what later proved to be infantile paralysis. He complained of pain in his left side and in both legs, and also had some temperature. That night I read to him from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, trying all the time to realize that he was a perfect child of God. He appeared to be free the next morning, but a few days later he manifested the same conditions again. We called a Christian Science practitioner and work was immediately taken up. For several days no improvement was evident, and, knowing little of Christian Science at the time, we became very fearful and finally told the practitioner that we were going to have the child examined by a doctor. The physician, after a careful examination, asked to have him under observation for a week. No medicine was given, but at the end of two weeks he was in bed all the time and had lost the use of both legs. The physician's verdict was that an operation was necessary. However, we found that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." At this dark hour we again turned to Christian Science for help. A practitioner began making visits to our home and telling us of divine Love and of Love's perfect image. As we began to realize in a small way that God is our strength, my son gained. And days of discouragement were replaced with the joyful realization that Christian Science is the truth that we had so long been in need of.

The boy entered high school in September of that year. Although one leg was shorter than the other and crutches were used at the start, progress was slowly and steadily recognized until at last the healing was complete. At the end of his second year at high school he passed the examination for the Citizens Military Training Camp and for two summers spent a month in military training. We are all grateful for the excellent health that he is now enjoying.
