Christian Science is bringing me so many blessings that I feel this testimony in the periodicals is long overdue. I was attracted to Christian Science many years ago largely through observing that there was something in it which caused my neighbor—a business man—to be remarkably interested in studying the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This impressed me, because I had tried many times to cultivate and interest in the Bible, but each time I soon lost heart.

Shortly after the armistice in 1918 I was troubled with partial deafness. I tried to overcome it with my own study of Christian Science, but at first was unsuccessful. However, after I had been helped for two or three weeks by a student of this Science, who advised me to ponder the statement on page 486 of Science and Health, "Sight, hearing, all the spiritual senses of man, are eternal. they cannot be lost," my hearing was completely restored and has remained so during these years.

One of the greatest proofs I have had of the healing power of Christian Science was the overcoming of pneumonia. A great deal of fear was expressed for me because I had decided to rely entirely on Christian Science and not to seek medical aid. Though the condition seemed very acute at one time, a steady improvement soon took place; the healing was complete and I returned to my business within three weeks. This experience taught me many much needed lessons, such as the need for "radical reliance on Truth" (Science and Health, p. 167), humility, and charity towards others holding differing points of view.
