The testimonies in Der Herold have always been a great comfort to me. Even as a child I was frequently ill, often having to miss school for weeks; and when I became older I never felt really well. I consulted various physicians without being bettered thereby. About eighteen years ago a dear woman drew my attention to Christian Science. I bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and from that moment took no more medicine. As I cannot here enumerate all our healings and blessings, I will mention only a few.

In 1918 I had the grippe, and after that for a long time I was subject to attacks of vertigo so severe that I could no longer go out of the house. With a practitioner's help I was freed from that trouble. Five years later I became severely ill with heart cramps, accompanied by a sense of fear and vomiting, so that I could hardly ever be left alone. For a long time also I was unable to do any work, the slightest exertion causing my heart to beat rapidly. Thanks to the patient, loving work done for me, I was healed of these troubles. The reading of the Christian Science literature healed me of severe headaches and frequent nosebleeding.

I thank God daily for having been led to this glorious teaching. We owe great gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her writings and the self-sacrificing work which she did out of love for mankind. At the same time I wish to thank the practitioner sincerely for her loving help, for which I had to ask so often. Once more I can do all my housework, and I feel better than ever before.
