I know of no greater joy than to have been born of Christian Science...
I know of no greater joy than to have been born of Christian Science parents, and in turn to bring up one's own children with God as their only physician. I am unspeakably grateful for Christian Science Sunday School teaching, which I had for eighteen years, and which my children now enjoy; and that they are truly learning the meaning of "one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."
I have witnessed many healings in our family. Influenza, ptomaine and lead poisoning, sprained ankles, rheumatism, whooping cough, measles, broken bone, and lack are a few of the things healed. Some of the healings have been accomplished with the help of an ever faithful practitioner, and others through our own reliance upon God. Several of the latter I recall clearly.
One evening one of our children was taken seriously ill with pneumonia. Fear took possession of us and we decided to call for help, but the practitioner could not be reached. The thought then presented itself that God is with us just as much as with a practitioner. We knew that God does heal, and therefore there is nothing to fear. As a result of our constantly declaring the truth about God and man, the child was soon sleeping peacefully, and next morning was perfectly well and went to school.
