In the Herald of June 27, under the heading "Women's Topics," the writer fails to draw any distinction between Christian Science and "mental healing based on suggestion;" yet these are actually opposite methods, as I should like to explain.

It is probably quite correct to state, as the writer does, that "every successful doctor, consciously or unconsciously, utilizes the power of suggestion in dealing with his patients," and also that the will to be well is an important factor in medical healing. This, however, will not explain the healing through Christian Science of cases where the sense of human will-power seemed entirely wanting or inadequate, and where probably suggestion, medical or otherwise, had already failed.

Christian Science—based on the fundamental propositions that God is good, that God has all power, and that a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit—goes on to prove in human experience that evil is unreal, and thereby heals the sick.
