I deem it a blessed privilege to testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science.

About five years ago I was ill. I was informed by the physician that I was suffering from chronic appendicitis, gallbladder trouble, and a serious heart disease. The fear created by this diagnosis made me feel worse and caused great mental misery. My weight dropped from one hundred and sixty to one hundred and eighteen pounds. Peace and harmony in my home and business establishment fled. I went from doctor to doctor, was given medicines of all sorts, and later was placed on a rigid diet for one year, but found no relief.

Finally one day my attention was drawn to the magazine table in my place of business, on which was a Christian Science Sentinel left there by a representative of a literature distribution committee. I knew nothing about Christian Science. I asked one of my patrons if she could tell me something about it. She surprised me by stating that she was a student of it, and asked me if I should like to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I said that I would, and she returned the same day with a copy. I began to read, but at first found the subject rather difficult to understand. However, the healing message was there, and with the assistance of a Christian Science practitioner I began to improve physically and mentally, regained my weight and strength, and finally experienced a complete healing.
