Your "Weekly Review of Men and Matters" of July 29 raises interesting points and a wider consideration of the subject could be continued. But the occasion for this letter is a sentence quoted from the reviewer as follows: "If anybody doubts the truth of that distinction, let him search his memory for the name of one woman who has achieved fame in the field of metaphysics."

To many readers, the name of Mary Baker Eddy will at once arise. In a ballot by the National Council of Women in the United States to determine the twelve most influential American women of the century, Mrs. Eddy's name was returned at the head of the poll. As the author of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," she is the writer of a unique work on metaphysics.
