Before I became a student of Christian Science I was...
Before I became a student of Christian Science I was under the impression that Thanksgiving Day was a day set aside by mankind to thank God for material gifts; but now I realize clearly that to a Christian Scientist every day is a day of thanksgiving.
Christian Science has been a wonderful blessing to me. It has taught me that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494). How wonderful it is to know that God is ever with us, and that man is created in His image! I am unable to express the joy and happiness that have come to me in my home, my work, and my social life.
For divine protection during a recent experience I am especially grateful. On a rainy day, after waiting until the traffic signal had changed at a corner, I started to cross the street and ran into the path of a moving automobile. I saw the car only a second before it hit me, but I instantly realized the protecting power which surrounded me. Although I was hit with such force that I was thrown at least six feet, I was not hurt. My hat fell on one of the fenders, and I landed on my feet in an upright position. I did not feel any ill effect whatsoever.
