Whenever I see the statement, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity," I think of my physical and mental condition before turning to Christian Science. I had been under medical treatment for some time and had submitted to an operation for a serious organic disease, but without gaining freedom from pain. Through loving, patient help from a Christian Science practitioner I was healed of this disease.

It has been my privilege to witness many healings since then in my own home, including healings of St. Vitus's dance, measles, chicken pox, scarlet fever, inflammatory rheumatism, rheumatic fever, heart disease, tonsillitis, injuries—the result of accident—and an instantaneous healing of a fractured ankle. Many were the times when healings were instantaneous, others taking a longer time, but in every instance it was proved that "Divine Love is our only physician, and never loses a case" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 132).

I am indeed grateful that I know (even in a small degree) that no matter how complicated and entangled a situation may appear to be, the answer is already in Truth. I realize that it is my responsibility to remember this and cling to it in the face of any difficulty.
