Because I have received so much encouragement and help...

Because I have received so much encouragement and help from reading the testimonies in our periodicals I am giving this with the hope of helping others as I have been helped. I was attracted to Christian Science because it promised to lift me out of a haunting, oppressive sense of fear and worry. I was always fearing what might happen and worrying over many things which never did happen. I suffered, too, from a great sense of inferiority and sensitiveness which so hampered me that I never did anything with any success, the sensitiveness causing great mental and physical suffering.

Looking back over the last thirteen years of my study of Christian Science, I see how gently but surely I have been lifted out of all this. I have confidence now that, because "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 454), any right work I engage in will be well and successfully carried through. The sense of worry has gone to a large extent, because I have found the Principle which will solve any problem that tempts me to believe there can be any other power than God, good. Physically, I am a different person, having had only one day in bed during the last nine years and a half; whereas formerly I was delicate, and to feel well was unusual. When our son was born with the aid of a Christian Science nurse and practitioner, a number of inharmonious conditions were overcome and I was about again in a week. A former experience, when we had ignorantly tried to mix medical methods and Christian Science, had proved so unhappy, and I was ill for so long afterwards, that this last experience was a revelation of the power of Truth.

Christian Science has given me health, happiness, a home, and, above all, something of that peace "which passeth all understanding." My gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, is unbounded for her courageous, compassionate standing for Truth, so that "the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea;" and I am fully alive to the great privilege that is mine because I am a member of this world-wide movement. For class instruction, and for the fact that I can be of service in a branch church, I am daily growing more grateful.—
