As reported, a religious organization recently referred to Christian Science over Station WJAX. The sermon said in substance that, to deceive the people, Satan has got up a false teaching called Christian Science, and has inveigled many persons into its trap by bringing forth a false remedy to heal; that in teaching that there is no death, Christian Science has turned many people away from God and the truth.

Such declarations show an ignorance of the teachings of Christian Science. Who ever heard of the devil, evil, blessing man by healing him of all manner of disease; lifting him from the brink of the grave; reforming him and causing him to worship God, to adore His Christ, and to become a daily student of the sacred Scriptures? Christian Science assuredly does this. And I am confident that practically everyone listening in over this radio station knows of someone who has been healed in Christian Science. No one knows better what Christian Science is doing for sin-sick, suffering humanity than those who have been healed by its Christlike ministrations.

Christian Scientists were also criticized for declaring that there is no death. When one understands the declaration of Christ Jesus, who said, "He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life," one will also understand why Christian Science teaches that belief in death is an error from which the Christ, Truth, can free one. In reality there is no death, for the reason that spiritual consciousness which constitutes man is eternal, and cannot die.
