When I think of all the blessings that have come to me...
When I think of all the blessings that have come to me through Christian Science, I find it impossible to express in words my gratitude for this wonderful truth. I should like, however, to try to say how my heart goes out in gratitude to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who, through her devout study of the Scriptures, was enabled to write our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and thus give to the world this marvelous truth, which reveals to man the spiritual meaning of the Bible and explains man's unity with God.
When first I heard about Christian Science I was in very poor health. I had consulted several doctors and tried innumerable remedies. The doctors said I was suffering from gallstone trouble, and that nothing but an operation could cure me. I also suffered terribly from sleeplessness. Then I was told about Christian Science. I bought the textbook, and after studying it for some time I went to a Christian Science practitioner and asked for treatment. I was cured of rheumatism in my knees in one treatment, and gradually became able to sleep normally.
The internal pains, however, were more stubborn, and I had frequent attacks of gallstone trouble. The last attack was very severe, and being away from home at the time, I was taken to a nursing home. Two doctors said an operation was absolutely necessary, but that I must rest in bed for a fortnight to gain my strength. I agreed to stay in bed, but next day sent for a Christian Science practitioner, who at once began treatment. The result was that I was healed in less than the fortnight, and returned home without seeing the doctors again. This happened nearly nineteen years ago. Since then I have had many other healings through Christian Science and have experienced its regenerating power as well.
