A correspondent believes that unless death is real, the teachings of Jesus and the Bible are wrong. Christ Jesus in proclaiming his ministry said he had come that we might have life, and that we might have it more abundantly. In answer to those who inquired about death and the resurrection, he said: God "is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him."

Christian Science affirms that death is not to be accepted as a fact, any more than is material sense testimony concerning the flatness of the earth. Natural science has proved that the earth is not flat. In raising the dead, Christ Jesus, the apostles, and certain of the prophets proved the unreality of death. Enoch and Elijah did not go through the experience called death, but were translated. It is self-evident that if life is real and eternal, then life's opposite, death, must be unreal.

Christian Science strongly emphasizes the facts that Life is God, Spirit, and that Life, God, fills all space and is eternal. When these facts are accepted the true mission of "our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel," will be seen, understood, and acknowledged. Spiritual man, the image and likeness of God, cannot die.
