I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings...
I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings that have come to me through the study and application of Christian Science. For a number of years I had been bothered very greatly with chronic catarrh, for which I had been given drugs and electrical treatments of all kinds but to no avail. It finally became necessary to undergo an operation, having part of the bone removed from my nasal passages; but the condition was more aggravated than helped.
Christian Science was suggested to me many times by friends, and after giving up all hope in medical treatment I decided to try it. With the help of a practitioner this condition was healed in less than a month. At the same time an inflammatory swelling of the ankles and chronic constipation, for which I had taken medicine for a number of years, were healed through the reading of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. In the short time that I have been interested in Christian Science I have had many experiences, including instantaneous healings of colds, and healings of an attack of acute indigestion, a dog bite during the summer months, and a growth on my neck which burst after a few days of Christian Science treatment; also lost articles have been restored and a great sense of protection experienced.
For all the activities of Christian Science, for the church services, the literature, the help of the practitioners, and for all of Mrs. Eddy's wonderful writings I am very grateful. Our Hymnal has been a great source of help to me. I am more than grateful for all the healings I have had through Christian Science, but the greatest blessing of all is to know, in the words of our Leader (Science and Health, p. 473), that "God is everywhere, and nothing apart from Him is present or has power."
