When I heard of Christian Science for the first time, I knew it to be the truth for which I had searched so much my whole life. Christian Science has been my light; it has changed and illumined my entire life. I was unhappy, disillusioned, weary of life, ill, poor, and suffering greatly from loneliness. Christian Science has brought me peace, joy, and the assurance that our Father-Mother God is ever with us, and that nothing can separate us from Him; for "if God be for us, who can be against us?"

Thanks to Christian Science I have had some remarkable healings. While in the home of some friends who were prejudiced against this Science, in a city where there were neither practitioners nor other Christian Scientists, I became ill and suffered terribly with my ear. My friends insisted on calling a doctor, who pronounced it to be a very dangerous condition and said there must be an immediate operation. He said that even after the operation I should remain deaf in this ear, but that the operation would save my life; without one he would take no responsibility. I refused to have the operation and wrote to a practitioner asking her to work for me. After a rather long delay, due to her absence, the reply arrived. The practitioner told me that she was working for me. In the evening the doctor examined me again and begged me to come back the next day to settle the day for the operation. I obedyed, and went to his office as agreed. He examined my ear and said, "Do not show me the ear that is not affected but the other—the one that should be operated upon." It was the ear that was to be operated upon, but it had been healed. When he learned this he said that it was a miracle, and that in thirty years of practice he had never seen a similar case. Needless to say, I hear equally well with both ears.

For some years before knowing Christian Science I suffered from bronchial asthma. The doctors tried to heal me but were not successful. In 1923, I arrived in Paris, coming from Italy. The belief in change of climate made me suffer more than ever with the asthma. I asked help from a practitioner, and was completely and instantaneously healed.
