This Belief of Being Young

Many Christian Scientists can testify to the freedom and strength which have come to them as a result of scientifically opposing the belief of old age. But what of the belief of youth? Is that any more real than the belief of age? And in admitting that the false desires and waywardness of youth are to be gone through with, are we not admitting the theory of a material man of so many years, just as much as when we give in to the supposition that old age must of necessity bring with it certain limitations? Are we not too ready to limit young people by the belief in an immature mentality, and by the popular fallacy that a necessary experience of youth is the sowing of "wild oats"?

Many poets since those to whom we owe the Psalms have mourned over lost youth and sighed for the fleeting joys of childhood. Even Shakespeare expressed abhorrence of advancing years in his poetic lines,
